Living up to his reputation of touching raw nerves by doing some brash talk, nonagenarian Ram Jethmalani unnerved the BJP on the issue of black money when he accused it of playing the biggest fraud on Indian people in the Rajya Sabha.

Referring to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley reply to Congress MP Rajeev Gowda on how much black money has been brought back from abroad to fulfill PM Modi's promise of depositing Rs. 15 lakh in every bank account, Jethmalani, said, "I wish to confess before this House that I have never seen a more *** answer in the history of this Parliament."

As the BJP members created ruckus on Jethamalani's remarks demanding unconditional apology, Chairman Hamid Ansari tried to bring semblance by expunging a particular word from Jethmalani's speech.

When BJP members led by Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, refused to let Jethmalani go without an apology, the veteran lawyer picked on BJP again thundering, "I am founder of BJP ...though it is being led by ***. I want to inform the nation of the biggest fraud that has been played in the nation... You should all be ashamed that you do not want to hear a man who is as old as your father... You don't even have a sense of Indian culture."

Stung by his remarks, treasury benches, including ministers kept beseeching chairman Ansari to intervene and tell Jethmalani to ask question. But the veteran lawyer kept tormenting the BJP.

"Sir, the supplementary question is, 'Do you know that a Task Force of the BJP had studied this problem in that major report...it was estimated that Rs 90 lakh crore of Indian money, equivalent to 1500 billion dollars, had been stolen from this country and deposited in foreign banks'," he said.

As the BJP members rose in protest, Jethmalani picked on Jaitley, "And here is a person who tells you that we should at least know that all estimates are wrong...He is a *** to the BJP."

As BJP members rose again, Jethmalani said, "Sir, you must expel all of them, if they don't..."

Ansari said in lighter vein, "This is an interesting suggestion but un-implementable...and not part of you question...Ask question."
After much drama, Jethmalani finally asked, "Did they make any effort to avail the offer publicly made by the German government that we have a list of 1,400 rascals amongst whom, the majority unfortunately, belongs to my nation..."

An unamused Jaitley eventually got the chance to reply. "All steps, in this regard, have been taken by the government. Of the 628 persons who were named, each of them has been investigated...Of all those accounts assessments have been completed in 409 cases. Of these 409 cases, Rs 8,437 crore have been assessed, and 190 prosecutions have been filed."
