Rajnath Singh visits Bum La Pass in Arunachal Pradesh, chants 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' with army jawans

Singh also commended the Indian Army and the Chinese Army 's efforts to reduce tensions along the LAC.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited the forward posts at Bum La Pass near Tawang along Indo-China border in Arunachal Pradesh on Friday to review the security situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). 

Rajnath Singh tweeted, "Visited the forward areas in Bumla near Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. Also, had a wonderful interaction with the brave jawans and officers of the Indian Army. The Army is securing India’s frontiers even in the most challenging environment."

Singh also commended the Indian Army and the Chinese Army 's efforts to reduce tensions along the LAC.

"During my Bumla visit, I have come to know that despite perceptional differences on the boundary issue both the Indian Army and the PLA have been sensible enough to reduce tensions on LAC," he added.

The Defence Minister also held an interaction with the army jawans and commended them for their contribution towards the nation. He also posted a video on Twitter where he was seen chanting "Bharat Mata ki Jai" with the army jawans.

Earlier, Rajnath Singh also attended the ‘Maitree Diwas’ celebrations at Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh. He tweeted, "Delighted to attend the ‘Maitree Diwas’ celebrations at Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh today. The people living in border areas are ‘strategic asset’ to our country. Maitree Diwas is the celebration of Civil-Army friendship which helps in strengthening India’s strategic interests."

Yesterday, he also visited the Tawang Tawang War Memorial and offered his tributes to the soldiers who died during the 1962 war with China.
