Meeting takes stock of situation in state, plans devising new security policy

In the light of the Pulwama terror attack that left 40 CRPF personnel dead, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh held a meeting with RAW chief AK Dhasmana, Intelligence Bureau additional director Arvind Kumar, Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Saturday to take stock of situation in Jammu and Kashmir and to devise a new policy for the state.
Sources said the home minister also looked upon the status report of the case and details of the wanted terrorists in the Valley.
CRPF Director General RR Bhatnagar was also present in the meeting wherein he gave the details of steps taken post attack and how he need help from all the agencies for a coordinated approach in the valley to tackle the terrorists.
Also, the home minister directed the officials to ensure that all possible steps should be taken against the terrorists currently operating in Valley and protection of innocent Kashmiris living in different parts of the country.
The minister was also concerned about the infiltration of Pakistan-based terrorists into Indian soil with coming up of summer season. He also took stock of the steps being taken to hunt down the terrorists operating in the Valley and how to check attempts of infiltrations from across the border. He was also briefed about the prevailing security situation in the valley, including along the border.
The minister was also concerned over how the terrorists transported RDX from across the border with help of Kashmiri residents.
