Days after Cabinet reshuffle, former minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy said that he failed to communicate about the work he has done to the Prime Minister and people.

Rudy, Minister with independent charge of State Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and other five ministers were asked to step down after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah conducted a performance review.

Rudy has been replaced by Dharmendra Pradhan, who has been promoted to the cabinet rank and also retained his Petroleum Ministry portfolio.

"I tried my best - but even my successor (and critics will vouch for this) will need some time to deliver visible changes," he told NDTV.

The former minister also said that he can't take his certificate if the boss thinks that he failed. "The boss is always right," he added.

However, Rudy defended his term saying, "When I was made minister in 2014, I had to look for officers, create a road map and structure...all that is there now."

Earlier, when asked about his future role leading up to Lok Sabha elections 2019 he had said: "I don't know what role I am going to play, whatever role party assigns me, I will accept it".

Four junior ministers -- Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Dharmendra Pradhan, Nirmala Sitharaman and Piyush Goyal were elevated to the cabinet rank and nine fresh faces inducted as Ministers of State in a major rejig of his team by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Nine of the ministers, who have joined the cabinet include Shiv Pratap Shukla from UP, Ashwini Choubey and RK Singh from Bihar, Virendra Kumar from Madhya Pradesh, Ananthkumar Hegde from Karnataka, former IFS officer Hardeep Singh Puri, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat from Rajasthan, Satya Pal Singh, who was the former commissioner of the Mumbai police, and Kerala’s Alphons Kallnanthanan.
