Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Rajesh Garg served a legal notice to AAP leader Kumar Vishwas on Monday for calling him a black-mailer and an opportunist.

In the notice, Garg stated that Vishwas's remarks had tarnished his image and has asked him for an unconditional apology within 15 days from the receipt of the legal notice. The former AAP MLA asserted that if Vishwas fails to tender apology, he will initiate suit for damages and file a criminal case.

Vishwas had alleged Garg of blackmail him in return for a party ticket in the Delhi Assembly election.

Garg has been suspended from primary membership of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The party will conduct a probe on his 'anti-party' activities.

Garg has accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of horse trading last year to form the government.

The former Rohini MLA, who shares an uneasy relationship with the party leadership, had recorded a conversation between him and Kejriwal in which the Delhi chief minister is purportedly heard asking Garg to break six Congress MLAs and form another party which could support the AAP.

Lashing out at Garg, the party had said that recording was passed on by a "disgruntled element" who was denied a party ticket.
