Plays smart in the auctions; retains most players.

Maximum retentions. Biggest team. Bargain buys. After this year’s IPL auction process, which is for all practical purposes over, any of these monikers can be used to define the Rajasthan Royals team or its management.
RR has bought 25 players, the maximum on any side, and still has Rs5.5 crore rupees in their kitty, the maximum savings by ant team so far. They have yet again proven themselves as smart shoppers like last year. In the process they ended up retaining most of the players for the new season this year.
Even Raj Kundra, co-owner of the team, couldn’t help re-tweet “Royals choose Loyals” on his profile summarising their bid in this year’s auction of cricketers.
Though they are already a 25-member squad, there are chances of them buying at least one more player in coming week. They are yet to select the captain who would replace Rahul Dravid.
Insiders are placing their bets on Steve Smith, who is said to resemble Steve Waugh and is in a “wonderful form”, Brad Hodge and Shane Watson. Though, the management may prefer a captain who’s available for the team throughout the tournament.
