Underlining the importance of skill development for growth, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Friday said her government has started making efforts for creating jobs to fulfil the promise to youths for providing 15 lakh jobs in the next five years.

Speaking at the inauguration of two new facilities of construction equipment manufacturing company JCB in Bagru, Raje said that the government has already started work with private partners for skill development.

She said that now both the governments at the Centre and the state were now focusing on the skill development. "We have new government at the Centre and our Prime Minister is with full of energy, new approaches and new ideas and thinking out of the box," Raje said.

"That is very important because if you can not take risk then there are no gains. Skill development is now an important programme of both the governments at the Centre and the state," she said.

The Chief Minister informed that the state government would also set up ITIs for skill development. Highlighting that it was her government in the state from 2003-08 which took the initiative to bring people into financial inclusion by providing them skill training through livelihood mission, she appreciated JCB for making investment in the state.

Raje said the move would contribute in growth and generate employment, and hoped that local skillful youths would get opportunities. JCB group chairman Lord Bamford informed Raje that the company has manufactured 2 lakh machines in India since it started operations in the country in 1979.

He said that the Jaipur facilities were strategically located looking at the future growth under Delhi-Mumbai Industrial corridor, of which a considerable part passes from in the state. Union MoS for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Chief Secretary CS Rajan, JCB group CEO Graeme Macdonald and others were present on the occasion.
