Rajasthan government releases 60-day vision document to fast-track development

Lists projects in sectors like energy, water for time-bound implementation.

The state government on Tuesday issued its vision document for the works to be completed in 60 days. In the document, the government has listed its priorities in projects of various key sectors like energy, water, urban development, law and order, Information technology and others. The government has given space to some of the projects of the previous government.

For example, the Prashasan Shehron Ke Sang campaign, which was started by Gehlot government, has now been extended till March 31 by the new government. Most of the works listed in this document are of routine nature which will be carried out in the coming 60 days. There is no visible change and departments have listed the ongoing projects or have stressed the need for their effective implementation. For example, the electricity supply which has been an important issue for the BJP government has been given prominence. The department has listed supplying 24-hour electricity to villages. The energy department said that monitoring would be done at the level of discoms so that the task could be accomplished efficiently. 

The public works department plans to make Gramin Gaurav Path Yojana to link panchayat samiti headquarters with the biggest gram panchayat.

Power-packed
To provide 24-hour power supply to villages

Monitoring of power supply will be done on a daily basis at discom level

Discoms will prepare an action plan for conducting works like repairing of cables, circuit breakers, roster switches

To strengthen the distribution network for providing 24-hr power supply

The government will issue work orders for auditing and calculating authentic technical and commercial losses in distribution companies

Education  
Digital examination and evaluation system at Rajasthan Technical University

Allotment of land for new colleges in a phased manner; starting with four new colleges in Rajgarh, Deogarh, Jhadol and Taranagar. The colleges were announced during Suraj Sankalp Yatra

Sending of requisition to RPSC for appointment of 1,500 college/polytechnic lecturers

Finalisation of admission policy for 2014-15; to remove requirement of re-admission
each year

Urban dev & housing  
Prashasan Shehron Ke Sang campaign extended till March 31 or till model code of conduct is enforced for Parliamentary polls

Establishment of Urban Improvement Trust in cities having population more than 1 lakh
Rehabilitate displaced people from Amanishah Nullah

Registration of 1,500 new houses by Rajasthan Housing Board, completion of 4,000 houses, to build 1,500 new houses

The state government will set up a bus shelter for city buses in Jaipur city

PHED priority list  
Providing potable drinking water to populated areas through major projects

Construction of completion of RO plants to benefit residential areas

Completion and commissioning of single phase borewells

Completion of ongoing works for strengthening water supply in urban sector

Replacement of old and defective pipelines in urban and rural areas

Law and order   
Special drive against anti-social elements

Enhance patrolling and deployment of cops in plain clothes in and around girls’/women’s educational institutions to discourage eve-teasers

Creation of special investigation teams in every district to bring down the number of cases pending for investigation

The government will launch self defence training programmes for women in educational institutions at district headquarters

Medical & health 
The government will start a cleanliness drive at all medical institutions

The administration will dispose of vehicles and equipment which are not in use or cannot
be repaired

Ensure presence of all medical and paramedical staff on duty

Include 108 ambulances in the medical system
