A delegation of Congress leaders has submitted a memorandum to the state election department demanding the removal of Karauli collector Abhimanyu Kumar, who allegedly favoured the ruling party leaders in election management as a district election officer.

It has been alleged by the delegation that the collector converted most sensitive polling booths into normal category despite rigging being reported there during polls. It was done deliberately to create space for BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Kirori Lal Meena's supporters to allow rigging the elections, the delegation alleged.

"In 2013 assembly elections, 40 polling booths were declared most sensitive in Sapotra assembly constituency. Out of them, few went for re-polling twice. These booths no more fall under the sensitive category. We have an objection as the collector did it intentionally to allow Kirori's supporters to rig the elections. The party demands inclusion of the booth in the sensitive category so that the free and fair polling could take place," said Ramesh Meena, Sapotra MLA and deputy leader of opposition of Rajasthan assembly, detailing about the memorandum.

The leader has also blamed the collector for converting normal booths into sensitive booths. "141 booths have been declared most sensitive in the areas by the administration. But none of them has rigging history during polls. It raises questions on the efficiency of the administration," said Meena.

Almost a fortnight back the Congress leader also accused Udaipur divisional commissioner Bhawani Singh Detha for working as a BJP agent and demanded Election Commission of India (ECI) to remove him from the post determinately.
