An audio clip has gone viral in Rajasthan in which a BJP MLA is purportedly heard abusing and threatening a local journalist for publishing a news story against him.

Mundawar MLA Dharmpal Choudhary allegedly called up the journalist and questioned him for filing the news report containing "wrong facts". He also allegedly abused the journalist, working for a regional language newspaper, and threatened to lodge a police complaint against him, apart from taking further action.

When contacted, Choudhary claimed the reporter in Mundawar town had asked for his version of a particular news story and then published it wrongly. "I will take action against the reporter for the wrong news that was published two days back," the MLA said.

He refuted the allegation that he had made threats and was abusive to the reporter. "Its not me who is threatening...it may be some party worker. I will look into it," he said.
