Repolling in a booth at Karanpur Assembly constituency of Sri Ganganagar district will take place on Monday. The counting of votes for Assembly polls takes place on Tuesday which  will decide the future of 2,274 candidates whose fates were sealed with culmination of polling on December 7.

The state election department took decision of repolling after it noticed that electronic voting machines (EVMs) were not cleared of mock poll when the actual polling began.

Chief Electoral Officer Anand Kumar said repolling would take place at polling centre number 163 from 8am to 5pm. Kumar said there was a decline in cases of repolling in the state this time. In 2013, repolling was conducted at eight polling centres spread across six constituencies.

Voting in 199 out of 200 constituencies was held on Friday and counting will take place on Tuesday. Ramgarh constituency in Alwar district will go to polls because of death of BSP candidate Laxman Singh. Election Commission of India (ECI) has not decided the day of polling in this constituency yet.

Over 74 percent polling was recorded on December  7, which can be called a good response of people towards festival of democracy. Though, the people failed to beat the record which they made in 2013 Assembly polls. A 75.23 per cent voter turn out was recorded in the previous polls which was a record.

Of the 2,274 candidates whose fate will be decided on December 11, 187 are female. The counting of votes will begin from 8 am and at first the service electorates and postal ballots will be counted, followed by votes of general electorates. By 1 pm the results or clear trends are expected to be declared.
