This time Raje’s winning margin is 34,980 votes while last time in 2013, she had defeated Meenakshi Chandrawat by over 60,000 votes.

Manvendra Singh has achieved what many could only think of in Jhalrapatan constituency. The Congress candidate has reduced the margin of win of chief minister Vasundhara Raje to just half in her home turf.
This time Raje’s winning margin is 34,980 votes while last time in 2013, she had defeated Meenakshi Chandrawat by over 60,000 votes.
While Raje secured 1,16,484 votes, Manvendra got 81,504 votes.
Raje has been winning this seat since 2003 and Manvendra fought for the first time from here. In 2013 Raje got 1,14,384 votes while Congress candidate Meenakshi Chandrawat got 53,488.
There were doubts as to how much dent he Singh would be able to maker in Raje’s votes as he was termed a paratropper, but unfazed by this Singh went around meeting people. His campaign stressed on “Swabhimani ki ladai Abhimani se.”
Manvendra along with his wife Chitra, Congress workers and his core team worked in villages during campaign trail. He even got a house on rent in Jhalrapatan.
