The Budget session of the Rajasthan Assembly began today with Governor Kalyan Singh highlighting "achievements" of the state government even as opposition members tried to disrupt his speech by raising allegations relating to corruption, unemploymemnt and law & order situation.
As soon as the Governor began his speech, Congress deputy whip Govind Singh Dotasara tried to interrupt him. He alleged that corruption was rampant in the state and the government had done nothing for unemployed people which was an "injustice" to them.
He also said the law and order situation was deteriorating in the state. NPP MLAs Golma Devi, Geeta Verma, Kirori Lal, Naveen Pilani and independent MLA Hanuman Beniwal also protested over the same issue by sitting in the well of the house during the Governor's speech.
BSP MLA Manoj Nyangli, meanwhile, raked up BJP MLA Chandrakanta Meghwal's scuffle in a Kota police station and said action against the guilty officers must be taken.
Despite the interruptions, the Governor continued with his speech.
