Railway Minister DV Sadananda Gowda, against whose son Karnataka Police registered a case of rape, today said his son has been "falsely implicated" in the matter.

"Law will take its own course. I will not interfere in the matter", he said when asked about the complaint filed against his son Karthik by a small-time Kannada model and actress yesterday. "It is a personal matter. It is a falsely implicated complaint. As a Minister I am here", Gowda told reporters.

The woman had yesterday claimed that she is married to the minister's son. The claim came on a day when Karthik got engaged to another woman at a ceremony at Kushalnagar in Kodagu District yesterday.

Bangalore Police commissioner MN Reddi had stated that "the woman had filed the complaint in RT Nagar Police Station against Karthik Gowda, Sadananda Gowda's son, for allegedly raping and cheating her". A case has been lodged against Karthik under IPC sections 376 (punishment for rape) and 420 (cheating), Reddi had said.
