Raid at Ujjain water resources official's residence reveals assets worth crores

An early morning raid at the residence of the Ujjain Water Resources Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) Chandra Singh Chadhavande by Lokayukta police revealed assets worth over Rs. 1.44 crores.


The assets included cash, property, jewellery and several unauthorized bank accounts.

"A disproportionate assets case has been registered against the SDO. We have recovered cash, jewellery and property and bank account documents," said Basant Shrivastav, Inspector, Lokayukta police.

Further investigations were likely to add to the tally of the disproportionate assets that were seized, Shrivastav said

Last month, Lokayukta raided the residence of the Deputy Commissioner of the state excise department, Naval Singh Jamod, in Indore and seized a huge amount of cash, ornaments and other expensive items.

The search operations were conducted at various places owned by Jamod Lokayukta Director General of Police (DGP), Daulat Singh.
