Congress president Rahul Gandhi is more Indian than prime minister Narendra Modi, said Congress national spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi as she laid into Raje and Modi governments and RSS with a string of allegations. “They are trying to divide society by nurturing ‘development of divisive agenda’ in the country,” she said. Chaturvedi was in Jaipur on Tuesday to conduct interview of aspirants who wish to become party spokesperson for Rajasthan unit.
When asked about BSP national vice-president Jai Prakash Singh’s statement in which he said foreign blood won’t allow Gandhi to lead India and become the PM, she termed the statement an attempt by the leader to earn political mileage.
“Unlike PM Modi, he is so much Indian. He meets people regularly and visits their place. He listens to everyone. Inside or outside of the Parliament, he raises issues that affect masses,” said Chaturvedi.
A popular face of Congress on TV debates, Chaturvedi also trained guns on RSS, by comparing it with Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM), a party led by Asaduddin Owaisi who often hit headlines for making controversial remarks.
On Tuesday, Owaisi had challenged the Modi government to answer his question- how many Muslims were recruited in the defence forces in the last four years?
