After giving a tough battle to BJP-government in the recent Gujarat assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi is in Uttar Pradesh for a two-day visit all set to focus on the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

On his first visit to his parliamentary constituency as Congress President, Rahul Gandhi on Monday took a sharp dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Amethi.
"Jo kaam China ki sarkaar do din mein karti hai use karne mein Narendra Modi Ji ki sarkaar ko ek saal lag jaata hai (What China does in two days, Narendra Modi-government takes a year to complete)," Rahul said.

Rahul Gandhi, who is on his two-day visit to Amethi, offered prayers at the Churva Hanuman Mandir on the Lucknow-Rae Bareli road and also participated in 'Khichdi daaat'.

Meanwhile, a scuffle broke out in Salon region where Gandhi was attending an event as BJP leaders alleged that they were attacked by the Congress workers.

Earlier during the day, a poster portraying Rahul Gandhi as Lord Ram and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as ten-headed 'demon' king Ravana created chaos in Amethi.
The inscription on the poster states Rahul an incarnation of Lord Ram who will bring 'Ram Rajya' in 2019 by winning the General election and defeating 'Ravan' Prime Minister Modi.

In the last assembly election in Uttar Pradesh, Congress had an embarrassing defeat losing maximum seats in Amethi and Rae Bareili, which has been the long standing grounds for Gandhi family.
