Hizbul Mujahideen has issued a fresh threat to the police personnel in J&K, including officers and women cops, to quit or face the consequences.

Hizbul has posted a warning on the social media asking women Special Police Officers (SPOs) and constables to quit forthwith. "We request women SPOs and women constables to resign from jobs. If not, be prepared for bullets. Our rule is for all those who have links with India," reads the post.

Hizbul also circulated a list of policemen, including officers, with photographs on the social media, asking them to resign within two days or face the consequences.

The list was circulated on the social media and WhatsApp. Cops were asked to cut a video announcing their resignation and post it on the social media for public viewing.

"Brothers, resign from your job and post a video on the social media. Otherwise be ready for the headshot," reads a warning in Urdu superimposed on the picture of one of the cops circulated on the social media in Kashmir.

The warning comes 24 hours after terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen killed three policemen – Firdous Ahmad Kuchey, Kulwant Singh and Nisar Ahmad Dhobi – after they were abducted from their homes in Batagund and Kapran villages of south Kashmir's Shopian district.

Hizbul also warned the political workers to resign or face the consequences in the valley.
Terrorists later made a video of two former PDP workers in which they pledged not to work with the mainstream political parties.

"I was a working with PDP two years back. I apologize for the mistake I committed two years back. I am an NREGA labourer and has no connection with anyone," said Sabzar Ahmad Bhat, a former PDP worker in a 19-second video circulated by terrorists.

Another video posted shows a man from Malngpora village announcing his resignation from the PDP. The terrorists, who are not seen, in the video are heard asking the man to ask his colleagues to quit or face the consequences.

The fresh threats come just a fortnight before the first phase of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) polls take off in Jammu and Kashmir. The ULB polls will be held in four phases from October 8 to 16. It will be followed by the Panchayat polls which will be held in nine phases from November 17 to December 11.

Police sources said this shows the level of desperation of terrorists who have suffered huge losses at the hands of security forces. "This is a part of the propaganda of terrorists. They are desperate because they have suffered huge losses. They are now trying psychological warfare in which they will not succeed. Jammu and Kashmir police is a brave force," said a senior police officer.
