A day after reports of cheating and papers being leaked in the inter-level combined competitive examination (second phase) of the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) came to the fore, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday ordered a high-level probe into the allegations, even as hundreds of angry students thrashed BSSC secretary Parmeshwar Ram during demonstrations outside the commission’s office in the state capital.
The first two phases of the exam, held on January 29 and February 5, came under the scanner after examinees and a section of the media claimed that the question paper and answer sheets were leaked beforehand. The police had then arrested at least 35 persons, who allegedly helped the examinees cheat during the exams. The BSSC, however, had denied any paper leak.
