The Gujarat government is leaving no stone unturned, literally, to ensure that the dedication of Statue of Unity by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 31 is a sight to behold.

Built at a cost of Rs 2,989 crore, the 182-metre statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is the world's tallest, twice the Statue of Liberty which stands at 93-metre high.

"When PM Modi unveils the Wall of Unity, three Jaguar fighter jets will fly from the dam towards the statue at a low altitude," the official said, adding, later, two MI 17 Air Force helicopters will shower flower petals to coincide with the PM paying floral tributes at the statue's feet.

Officials said that artistes from 33 states will also perform at a cultural programme to be held after the unveiling wherein ceremonial bands of Gujarat police, SRPF, CRPF, Army, Navy and Air Force will also put up a show.
