Several activists of Shiv Sena on Monday took out a protest march here against the alleged apathy of the SAD-BJP government towards those Hindu families who were victims of terrorism in Punjab. Protesters, led by Sena's state president Sanjeev Ghanauli, started the march from local Hanumangarhi temple and converged at Paper Chowk on National Highway 1.

Raising slogans against the BJP-SAD alliance government in the state, the members of Shiv Sena, which has an alliance with the BJP in Maharashtra, paid tribute to victims of terror, including to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh, and slain Commander-in-Chief of the Army during the Operation Blue Star, General AS Vaidya.

Sena's state senior vice president Rajesh Palta alleged that the government was rubbing salt on the wounds of families of terror victims by giving relief to non-Hindu victims while ignoring Hindu families. He demanded that Hindu families who were victims of terrorism should be suitably rehabilitated.

He also demanded execution of death penalty awarded to the convicted terrorists.
