Son of a government school principal, Navdeep Singh from Muktsar in Punjab emerged as the topper in the National Eligibility-cum- Entrance Exam (NEET)-2017 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
"I had worked really hard for the examination. For last two years, this has been my only focus and I did not undertake any other task. I ensured that I even utilise my holidays for preparation. It is a result of my two years of hard work," said Navdeep Singh, who secured All India rank 1 with 697 marks out of 720. Navdeep aspires to be a doctor and undertake research on treatment of Cancer.
