Pune: Man stabs his friend in private parts for making lewd remarks about his wife, victim leaves clue in blood

Angered by lewd remarks made against his wife, a man stabbed his 5­1-year-old friend in the latter’s private parts, leaving him grievously injured. The incident occurred near Uruli Kanchan on Wednesday night.

After being stabbed, the victim wrote the attacker’s name in blood on the floor to leave a macabre clue for the police.

Devak Desai, the victim works as a caretaker at a poultry farm in Peth Village near Uruli Kanchan and stays alone at the farm. According to the police, on Wednesday night, the victim Devak was sitting with the alleged attacker Sunil Katke and consuming liquor near the poultry farm.

A senior police officer of the Pune rural police told DNA, "Desai and Katke know each other for the last few years. On Wednesday night, after finishing their work, both of them sat together to consume alcohol."

"After a few drinks, Katke was leaving for home but Desai asked him to drink more. When Katke refused, Desai made some lewd remarks about Katke's wife which angered him," the officer said.

The police said that a livid Katke left the place in anger, only to return with a kitchen knife. "Desai was still drinking when Katke attacked him with his knife. He stabbed him on his private parts. The officer added that Desai wrote Katke’s name on the floor with his blood to give cops a clue about his attacker’s identity in case he lost his life.

Desai was shifted to a nearby hospital by locals and is believed to be now out of danger. Meanwhile, Desai’s gory clue along with Desai’s statement allowed the police to nab Katke.
