They indulged in war of words for over two weeks, but leaders from all political parties had breakfast together at Wadeshwar Katta in Pune on Wednesday.

Started by a few political leaders, this weekly informal meeting invites people to discuss current issues and tries to explore various angles of the news from those involved in it. In this weeks meeting, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kakade, Congress youth wing president Vishwajeet Kadam, Shiv Sena city chief Vinayak Nimhan, MNS city unit president Hemant Sambhus and NCP spokesperson Ankush Kakade shared their views on Pune Municipal Corporation elections and prospects of the parties which contested.

Former corporators Dr Satish Desai, Shrikant Shirole, Gopal Chintal, Ankush Kakade began this initiative 'Breakfast Pe Charcha' in January 2014.

Desai said that people from all walks of life were invited for this breakfast discussion so that people can understand and have insights on current issues.

During the discussion, Shiv Sena leaders appeared to be confident that they would play king makers role in PMC. On the other hand, Sanjay Kakade announced that he would retire from active politics if BJP does not win absolute majority. To which, Ankush Kakade retorted saying Pune would miss Sanjay Kakade because he was sure NCP would win the election. Vishwajeet Kadam was modest and pointed out that Congress has its roots in the city and they would improve the tally to be in a deciding position in the corporation.

Chintal, Shirole and Desai underlined that Pune stands for social harmony and this Katta would send a message that whatever the result of elections, the city would still remain peaceful.
