Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan today said that the possibility of terrorists being behind the low-intensity blast in Pune can not be ruled out.

The blast triggered by an IED planted in a bike parked in front of the Faraskhana police station in the heart of the city left five people injured.

Talking to reporters here, Chavan said the motorbike on which the IED had been planted was reported missing from Satara.

"The vehicle was reported missing on June 25 and used to carry out the IED attack," he said.

It would be wrong to speculate about identity of culprits and their intentions at this juncture, the CM added.

Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad, which is probing the the incident, earlier today said in a statement that the blast was, prima facie, a terror attack.
