The friction between Pakistan and India has been at a peak after the terrorist attack in Uri, which led to the death of 19 Indian soldiers. This led to India responding with a surgical strike on terrorist camps across the LoC.
Amidst the charged atmosphere in both countries, voices were also raised against Pakistani artists working in the Indian entertainment industry. When Salman Khan, spoke in support of the artists and said that they were not terrorists and should not be banned, he faced immense flak on social media.
However, people in both countries have now also been speaking up against the war mongering, highlighting the dangers of spreading hate through keyboard activism, the real cost of war and the loss of countless lives.
Taking to social media with #ProfileForPeace, citizens in India and Pakistan have shared how they do not want the diplomatic discord to result in war. The battle should be against terrorism and should not result in halting talks between the two countries, they believe.
Here are some of the photos and messages shared on Facebook and Twitter.
Mahesh Bhatt came forward in support of the Pakistani actors in India, along with some other actors of the fraternity.
