The Haryana Government on Thursday said it is proceeding in the Robert Vadra land deal case as the per law.

"We are proceeding in the case administratively as well as under the law," Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar told reporters here on Thursday after a function here. The Income Tax department has issued notice to a business firm owned by Vadra as part of its probe to understand the "financial structure" of the company and real estate projects undertaken by it. Alleging irregularities in the land deals involving Vadra company, BJP had raked up the issue during campaign of 2014 Lok Sabha polls and before the October 2014 Assembly polls to attack Congress.

In reply to another question, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao' programme at Panipat on January 22. "The prime objective of this programme is to bring a change in people's mindset towards girl child on or after her birth. Preventing determination of sex, female foeticide, ensuring safety of girls, their best possible care and providing quality education are integral part of this programme," Khattar said.

He said that a national-level media and multi-sectoral campaigns in 100 districts in the country would be carried out under this programme having adverse child sex ratio. Apart from this, awareness tours will also be carried out, he said. "'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao' programme will be implemented in 12 districts of Haryana-- Mahendergarh, Jhajjar, Sonipat, Rewari, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Rohtak, Karnal, Yamunanagar, Kaithal, Bhiwani and Panipat, which have the lowest child sex ratio," the chief minister said.
