Kerala police is conducting a probe into the allegations against two Keralites, who were deported by the UAE for 'endorsing' the ideas of Islamic State through social media.

It has not been confirmed that the deported persons have any link with terror outfit IS, State Director General of Police T P Senkumar told reporters in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday. However, he said probe into the issue was on. In UAE a person would be under scanner if they react even though social media, he added.

The police chief was answering questions related to reports that two Keralities have been deported from UAE for their alleged link with IS recently. To a question, he said an alleged threat made by a state BJP leader against police officers would be looked into.

Threats to police officials from political parties have always been there, and it is nothing new, he said. BJP  leader, V V Rajesh had warned that the police officials who favour CPI-M activists engaged in political violence would have to face consequences after their retirement.
