Principal, school clerk arrested by Patna Police for raping minor student

A principal-cum-owner of a private school along with a clerk of the institution have been arrested by Patna Police for repeatedly raping a minor girl for over one month. Police said on Thursday that they filmed the act as well and was blackmailing her.

The rape survivor, a 12-year-old girl, is three-weeks pregnant.

A case has been lodged with Phulwarisharif Police Station under POCSO Act and further investigation is underway.

According to a police source, "The incident came to light when the girl began complaining of nausea and abdominal pain. When her parents took her for a medical check-up, the doctor informed them that she is three-weeks pregnant. It was only then that she told about her parents about her ordeal. They then lodged a police complaint."

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaaj confirmed the incident and said the duo — Principal Arvind Kumar alias Raj and clerk Abhishek Kumar were arrested.

The police source said, "The victim has told the police that almost a month ago, she was called by the principal to his cabin on the pretext of some academic work. He then took her to a chamber next to his cabin and raped her. This was witnessed by the school clerk, who also recorded it on his cell phone. Later, the clerk started blackmailing her and sought sexual favours."

The police have found photographs of the victim and the accused in their mobile phones. "They threatened to make her photographs and video viral on social media if she opened her mouth. Once, they also threatened to kill her," the police source said and added that a speedy trial will be recommended in the case to provide quick justice to the victim.

About a 100 students from the neighbourhood used to study in the school. The police have sealed it for investigation now.
