President Pranab Mukherjee to meet Norway's King, other dignitaries on Monday

President Pranab Mukherjee will meet Norway's head of state King Herald fifth and other dignitaries today as part of his state visit to the Nordic nation.

President Mukherjee who reached Oslo on Sunday was accorded a traditional welcome on the first leg of his six-day visit to Norway and Finland.

He is the first ever Indian head of state to visit Norway. During the President's visit, India and Norway are expected to reach an agreement on nuclear safety measures. Other agreements to be inked are in the fields of education, trade and earth sciences.

President will also visit Fram Museum on Monday from where he will speak with Indian scientists working at Himadri--the country's first Arctic research station located at Svalbard through a visual link. He will also interact with Indian PhD students studying at the University of Svalbard.
