President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday dissolved the Delhi legislative assembly, following which the Election Commission of India has revoked the notification for bypolls to three Delhi assembly seats, which had been scheduled for November 25. A notification issued by the Home Ministry said that President Pranab Mukherjee has dissolved the "Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi with immediate effect" on November 4.
Ending the eight-month-long political uncertainty, Union Cabinet on Tuesday had approved dissolution of Delhi assembly, which had paved the way for holding of fresh polls in the capital which is under President's Rule since February after the AAP government quit after ruling for 49 days.

Battle for Delhi: Former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit says won't contest polls
Former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday said she would not be contesting in the upcoming assembly polls, but added that she would help her party in the triangular battle. "I will not fight the elections, but will do all to help the Congress. Whatever will be said to me, I am ready for that," said Dikshit. "We are soldiers of the party. The party has not yet told me anything in this regard. BJP going for polls as it knows it can't horse trade, says Congress
Launching a frontal attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress leader Rashid Alvi on Tuesday said that the party has agreed for fresh assembly polls in Delhi as they areaware that they cannot horse trade anymore. "There should be polls in Delhi but I am surprised with the BJPs behaviour. Now they want polls because they know that they cannot horse trade," said Alvi.
