The Centre today told the Delhi High Court that the preliminary inquiry against Ravi Rishi-led Vectra group's aviation firm Global Vectra Helicorp Ltd (GVHL) would be complete in three weeks.

Appearing before Justice Vipin Sanghi, Additional Solicitor General A S Chandhiok submitted that the government had on May 7 suspended GVHL's permit to operate as there were some material against the company.

The senior lawyer said the inquiry is going be completed in three weeks after which the government will form an opinion as to whether the suspension of the permit against the aviation firm would continue or not.

"The government would issue a show-cause notice to GVHL only when if a decision is taken that the suspension would be continued against the company," the counsel said while responding to a court's query why no notice was sent to the company before withdrawing its security clearance and later suspending permit to operate its choppers.

The court was hearing GVHL's plea challenging the Home Ministry's May 7 order withdrawing its security clearance and subsequenly suspending the firm's permit to operate here.

Ravi Rishi’s Vectra group is the largest shareholder in Tatra Holdings owning the Czech truck manufacturer Tatra and is facing CBI probe for allegedly supplying trucks at exorbitant price to the Indian Army.

The aviation firm's lawyer N K Kaul argued that due to the government's decision, the company has been suffering from a huge financial loss and the court should pass an order on the merit of the petition as the inquiry will take a long time.
