Ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit, President Pranab Mukherjee has shared historic pictures of foreign officials who have attended the Republic Day parade in India in the past.
Mukherjee tweeted pictures from when President Sukarno of Indonesia was guest of honour to India's first Republic Day celebration in 1950 to the President of Argentina, Mr Raul Alfons' visit in 1985.
Now Obama will join the prestigious list of guests at a Republic Day parade. Obama is also the first US President in history to attend India's Republic Day parade.
A seven-layer security ring will be thrown around the VVIP enclosure at Rajpath for the parade. The airspace over the area will be monitored by a radar to be specially set up.
Close to 10,000 paramilitary troops will be deployed along with the 80,000-strong Delhi Police to ensure security at and around Rajpath.
