Eleven potato-laden trucks were stopped near the Dumka border in Jharkhand by the West Bengal police toon Sunday.
A top police officer said the trucks were sent back to the cold-storage at Saithia after being intercepted by the police at Mohammed Bazar check-post.
The move followed "instructions from higher authorities" as prices of the tuber went up in markets across West Bengal, the officer said.
