Several political leaders today attended a prayer meeting in the memory of liquor baron Ponty Chadha and his brother Hardeep, who were killed in a shootout, held at a gurudwara here by their family.
Among those who were present at the 'antim ardas' held at Rakabganj Gurudwara here were Union Minister Preneet Kaur, cricketer-turned-MP Mohd Azharuddin, INLD chief Om Prakash Chautala, senior Samajwadi Party leader Ramgopal Yadav, Congress MP Raj Babbar, Akali Dal leader Jagjit Singh and National Commission for Scheduled Castes Chairman P L Punia.
Ponty and Hardeep, who were locked in a property dispute, were killed when both sides opened fire at a farmhouse in south Delhi's Chattarpur last Saturday.
Conveyign his condolences to the family, SP leader Yadav said, "May God give them strength to deal with the sad situation".
Chautala said the incident was very tragic. "It is a very sad thing to have happened. We are with the family," he said.
