Political commentator, journalist Cho Ramaswamy battling for his life in Chennai hospital

Ramaswamy was admitted to the hospital on Friday.

The latest news from Apollo Hospitals in Chennai is that political commentator and journalist Cho Ramaswamy's health is in critical condition. He was admitted to hospital on Friday.

Cho Ramaswamy, 79, has been in and out of hospital over the last few months due to respiratory issues. He is being treated at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai. His health has been deteriorating since January this year.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited him when he was in Chennai on August 7 for National Handloom Day. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa visited him on August 29 when he was admitted in hospital due to severe joint pain.

Jayalalithaa and Cho Ramaswamy have known each other for nearly 60 years. The political analyst has seen her in films and politics and at one time was also her advisor.
