Cyberabad police on Monday sought 15-day custody of Salman Mohiuddin who was arrested for allegedly trying to leave the country to join the Middle-East terror group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.

The prosecution told the court that police wanted to know if anyone else was involved in his plan to join ISIS and to get more information about electronic gadgets seized from him. The court adjourned the case for a day so that Mohiuddin's lawyer could file a reply. The 32-year-old US-returned engineering graduate was arrested on Friday at the airport when he was on way to Dubai.

Police said the Hyderabad resident was planning to go to Syria via Turkey. Further, he intended to undergo training in Syria and return to indulge in anti-national activities in the country they claimed. He was arrested under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Information Technology Act. He is now in judicial custody.
