Police registers case against organisers for dishonouring flag in Odisha

A case has been registered by police on Friday against the organisers of a youth Mahostav on the charge of dishonouring the tricolor in Odisha's Kendrapara district.

The Mahostav was organized on October 31 under the auspices of sport and youth affair department of the district administration, the police said.

A complaint lodged in this connection charged that the organisers held a dance competition in which the participants performed on the floor with tricolor thrown upon it.

"A case has been registered in this connection under Section- 2 (i), Prevention of Insults to National Honour (amendment) Act 2005. The matter is being investigated", said Kendrapara Police Station Inspector, Pramod Kumar Lenka.
