PMT: Special Task Force submits charge sheet against 28 accused

Each charge sheet is of about 6,000 pages.

Special Task Force (STF) Bhopal on Saturday filed a charge sheet of about 6000 pages against each accused in the PMT scam.  A list of 856 suspicious candidates who have made it through PMT 2013, were also submitted by STF in the court.

A supplementary charge sheet will be filed against former examination controller of MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) Dr Pankaj Trivedi.  

The documents of charge sheet were transported in a mini truck from Bhopal.

Sources said the STF has mentioned 182 witnesses in the charge sheet. Among the list of 856 suspicious students, less than 100 got admissions in the various medical colleges of the state.

STF officer Ashish Khare told dna that a charge sheet of about 1.5 lakh pages has been submitted with the court. This includes separate set of charge sheet for each of the 28 accused.

"We have booked the accused under different sections and also submitted a list of suspicious students.  Dr Pankaj Trivedi has been taken on police remand and is being interrogated," said Khare. 

He said the officials of MPPEB have been booked for irregularities in PMT. The students have been accused of involvement in racket while kingpin Dr Sagar has been booked for operating the racket, under IT Act, under Arms Acxt and under Excise Act.

Police had recovered a country made pistol, 20 registries of land, two fake seals, 40 tolas of gold ornaments, four swords, two currency counting machines, dollars, cash, expensive bottles of wine , live cartridges of 315, 375 and 306 bore, one air gun and 15 empty cartridges from Dr Sagar.

A petition is also pending in high court against PMT scam and the court had asked the state government to provide list of illegal candidates who have made it through PMT.
