Prime Minister Narendra Modi will go ahead with his first official visit to Brussels on March 30 even as two explosions rocked the Belgian capital on Tuesday killing at least 26 and injuring scores of people with officials saying the toll could rise.
While one bomb exploded in the departure hall of Brussels airport, another blast took place at a metro station shortly afterwards. Last week, a suspect in the November terrorist attack in Paris that killed 130 people was arrested in Brussels.

Condoling the incident Modi who tweeted "News from Brussels is disturbing. The attacks are condemnable. Condolences to families of the deceased. May those injured recover quickly", will also hold a bilateral summit meeting Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel. India and Belgium enjoy close and friendly ties. Belgium is India's second largest trade partner within the EU. EU, on the other hand is India's leading trade and investment partner and biggest export destination. According to the ministry of external affairs, the summit aims to deepen the India-EU Strategic Partnership and advance collaboration in priority areas for India's growth and development. Even as some reports claimed most of the deaths at the metro station, external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted that one Indian cabin crew of Jet Airways was also injured.
The airport complex has been been evacuated and sealed and all flights have been cancelled. Belgian public broadcaster says bomb at Brussels airport was a suicide attack. The Belgian PM tweeted: "We are following the situation minute by minute. Top priority goes to the victims and people at the airport".
