PM Narendra Modi to flag off 'Run For Unity' tomorrow on Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary

On the eve of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, the pledge of National Unity was administered at many offices of the Government of India in New Delhi today, the statement said.

The 140th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on Friday will be celebrated across the country, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagging off the 'Run For Unity' at Rajpath. The day is being celebrated as 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' (National Unity Day). The Prime Minister will first offer floral tributes at Sardar Patel statue on Parliament Street at 7.30 am, a PMO statement said. After this, he will address the people assembled at Rajpath for the "Run For Unity" and administer the pledge of unity to the assembled gathering, it added.

Modi will then flag off the 'Run For Unity' from the lawns of Vijay Chowk around 8.15 am. The participation is voluntary and a large number of people including school-children and sports persons are expected to join the 'Run for Unity', the statement added. On the eve of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, the pledge of National Unity was administered at many offices of the Government of India in New Delhi today, the statement said.

Celebrations are also being organised in states which Union Ministers would be attending at different places.
