Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephonic conversation with his British counterpart Boris Johnson on Tuesday where he flagged the issue of terrorism and vandalism outside the Indian mission in UK.
PM Modi first congratulated Johnson on his election to the high office and expressed his "readiness to work together" to strengthen the strategic partnership between India and the United Kingdom.
Both leaders agreed that as the world's pre-eminent democracies, the two nations have much to contribute to effectively address the many challenges faced by the world today.

PM Modi went on to point out that "terrorism plagues all parts of the world", including India and Europe, and stressed on the importance of taking effective steps to ward off the threats posed by radicalisation, violence and intolerance, particularly in the context of the expanding footprint of terrorist organisations such as IS.
The Prime Minister also drew attention to the challenges posed by vested interests pursuing their motivated agenda, including by violent means. Here, he referred to the violence and vandalism perpetrated by a mob against the High Commission of India in London on Independence Day. Johnson, meanwhile, regretted the incident and assured that all necessary steps would be taken to ensure safety and security of the High Commission, its personnel and visitors.
The two leaders ended on a high note, and said they looked forward to interact at the G-7 Summit in Biarritz, France.
