PM Modi wraps up 4-nation Arab outreach tour

Wrapping up his four-nation “Arab outreach” mission, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the last leg of his tour, inked two agreements and five MoUs with Oman. 

At his meetings with Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said and his two deputy prime ministers Sayyed Fahad and Sayyed Asad, both sides agreed to strengthen maritime security in the Gulf and the Indian Ocean regions — vital for India’s security interests and shipping lanes. 

Sources here said Omani ruler showed warmth and friendship to the PM — so much so that at the dinner hosted by the Sultan at his palace on Sunday, the conversation went beyond midnight. 

The ruler sent breakfast from his palace for Modi, paying personal attention to his tastes.
