Lok Sabha election 2019: High stakes seven-phased parliamentary elections are taking place in the country to elect the next government for a period of five years. Voting in the two-phase have already been held while the third phase voting will be held on April 23. 60% of candidates in Gujarat have studied between class 5-12

An analysis carried out by the Association for Democratic Reforms shows that of the 371 candidates contesting elections in Gujarat, 19% of them have studied only till class 8. In all, 72 candidates have mentioned their educational qualifications as up to class 8. Overall 60% of all the total candidates have studied between Class 5 and 12. Total 59 candidates have studied up to class 10 while 27 have a postgraduate degree. Merely three have a PhD while seven are illiterate and 19 are just literate. Read the full story here

Bengal BJP urges PM Modi to contest from their state
