One such example is the weekend, which comes in midst of Chaitra Navratra, nine days of fasting that holds spiritual importance for the Prime Minister. Despite the fast, Narendra Modi has decided to stick to a tight schedule. Instead of food, his menu will constitute of infrastructure, justice, diplomacy, technology and spirituality.
On Saturday, the Prime Minister will be host to the visiting Malaysian Prime Minister, Najib Razak, for bilateral talks at Delhi’s Hyderabad House. PMO sources confirmed to WION that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start his day with a ceremonial reception at 9 am and accompany his Malaysian counterpart till late evening. The official banquet is expected to start after 6.30 pm which could continue till 8 pm. But his day will not come to an end with the banquet.
Modi will rest for half an hour after the banquet and then proceed to address India’s sharpest “tech” minds, who are taking part in the final round of the Smart India Hackathon, which will take place over two days from Saturday 8 am to Sunday 8 pm. It will focus on social issues and problems identified by 29 Ministries and Departments of the Union Government. Roughly 10,000 participants have qualified for the final round. The Prime Minister's address to the participants at 10 pm on Saturday night is expected to last for 30 minutes and will be followed by an interaction with participants across multiple locations.
On Sunday, April 2, the Prime Minister will fly early morning to Allahabad to attend the closing celebrations of the 150th anniversary of Allahabad High Court. Once the function is over, without taking a break, the Prime Minister will fly to Udhampur where he will drive through India’s longest tunnel. He will dedicate the Chenani-Nashri tunnel to the nation, which will significantly improve connectivity between Jammu and Srinagar.
After the drive through, the Prime Minister will address a public rally in Udhampur where he could touch upon developments taking place in Kashmir. Once the function is over, he will fly back to Delhi. Monday will be a routine 12-hour work day for Narendra Modi.
