Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday offered prayers at the Shri Guru Ravidas Janm Asthan Mandir, Seer Gowardhanpur on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the great saint of the Bhakti Movement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday offered prayers at the Shri Guru Ravidas Janm Asthan Mandir, Seer Gowardhanpur on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the great saint of the Bhakti Movement.

"I bow to Guru Ravidas ji on his Jayanti. His thoughts & emphasis on social reform & equality transformed our society & enriched it greatly," the Prime Minister has tweeted earlier.

He was present at the temple to take part in the 639th birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas.

Besides him, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will also offer prayers and take part in langar at the temple.

Later in the day, Prime Minister Modi will be the Chief Guest at the Centenary Convocation of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) here where he will deliver the address.

The Prime Minister reached Varanasi last night.
