Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah held a meeting with all national office bearers, Cabinet Ministers and state election heads on Thursday to chalk out strategies and ensure that the party's winning streak continues in 2019.

That the BJP won PM Modi's homestate of Gujarat but with reduced numbers is said to be a key reason that prompted the party to brainstorm in advance.

The leadership discussed strategies for the upcoming polls in Karnataka, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and the Northeast, and plans to counter that Congress that seems upbeat after its improved performance in Gujarat.

Party sources said the focus was on to make the common man aware about the government's pro-people programmes and schemes, and target the Millennial generation and attract and bring it into the party's fold.

The PM has made it clear to the party that to be in the race it needs to target youth, especially who were born in this millennium.

The party has planned blood donation camps beginning from Vivekananda's anniversary on January 12 till Subhas Chandra Bose's birthday on January 23 in every district.

BJP's Youth Wing has been tasked to organise camps and prepare a list of volunteer blood donors and send it to the party's headquarters. The target is to prepare a list of at least 1 lakh donors in every state and turn them into a mascot of the BJP's nationalist agenda, sources said.

Besides it will also undertake Millennial Voter Abhiyan from January 25 to February 10 under which it will launch a nationwide campaign to register young voters. The BJP is expected to launch a mobile app to spread out the message for youth across the country at different levels.
