Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming back to his home state on Monday for another rally. But, unlike his earlier outings, this one is going to be a game-changer, both for its scale — more than seven lakh BJP workers are expected to attend — and for the timing — his speech should do the job of a morale booster for party workers who will be tackling the anti-incumbency factor in the poll-bound state.

The PM will be addressing party workers in Bhat village near Ahmedabad. Political observers feel every word that will come from the PM will ignite the passion in lakhs of party workers. It's not the anti-incumbency sentiments, the party also has to find ways to bounce back in the face of widespread social media campaigns against it.

But party workers have faith in their leader. Calling him a role model, BJP Yuva Morcha vice-president in Ahmedabad, Poras Patel, said, "Modi means Gujarat for us. He is the synonym for development, and he is our pride. He has been always a source of inspiration for us and his speech tomorrow (Monday) is going to energise us. His speech will silence the anti-BJP voices that have been hogging social media platforms."

Another BJP worker Rajesh Desai said, "Modi's words are like Gita for us. If we follow his directions, we will win more than 150 seats. We will take his development agenda to every household in Gujarat and will convince every voter that only BJP is can think of their development."

Among the seven lakh party workers who will attend the rally, the significant presence will be of page pramukhs, who are in charge of voters listed on a single page of voters list. Page pramukhs are the mascots of the BJP and part of its micro plans for poll campaigns. It is said that the concept was introduced by Modi himself during the Assembly elections in 2012.

BJP spokesperson Harshad Patel said, "A rally of this scale, where a party leader will address workers in such large numbers, will be the first in country's history."

"It will be a record of sorts. BJP is a cadre-based party and workers are its backbone. They look up to Modi for inspiration and he knows it well. That is why we believe this rally is going to be a game-changer in the current political trend in state," Patel noted.

"Earlier, Amitbhai (Amit Shah, party's national president) addressed workers in three different regions of the state. The PM's address will focus on development programmes anchored by both central and state governments. Since he himself started as a party worker, he understands how workers can be inspired and what miracles they are capable of if guided properly. We have high hopes from this rally," Patel added.
