Two pipe bombs, weighing 10 kg each, planted by Naxals under a bridge were on Friday recovered in Chhattisgarh's Kondgaon district, police said.

The bombs were found under an under-construction bridge on Bhawridih river at Ranapal on Khodsanar-Hadeli road, District Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena told PTI.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Central Reserve Police Force and district police had been sent to search for the bombs. The team also found two detonators and a 200-meter electric wire from the spot. The bomb disposal squad later defused the bombs.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Naxal leaders Kosa and Raiju Lohar were involved in planting the bombs, the SP said.
