Congress leader Meem Afzal on Friday termed the alleged sting operation conducted by Cobrapost is part of efforts to poison the poll atmosphere and an attempt to destroy the nation's peaceful communal fabric.

"This is a 22-year-old issue. This has created a lot of ruckus within the country. It is also a part of politics of polarization which is being spread within the nation by the BJP. Raising issues like Babri Masjid and Ram Mandir at the time of the elections is just an effort to strengthen communalism within the nation. I think the public of the nation will reject this," Meem Afzal said.

An elaborate sting operation, conducted by Cobrapost on 23 key people of the Ram Janambhoomi movement, claims that fall of the disputed 16th century structure on December 6, 1992, was elaborately planned by the various wings of the Sangh Parivar and executed with precision by trained volunteers.

It wasn't, as it is claimed, a case of mob frenzy going out of control, leading to the collapse of the Babri Masjid.
